Updating Our Memorandum and Articles of Association Statement from SiS Board of Trustees – updating our memorandum and articles of association Over the last few years, Self Injury Support has evolved to be a leading provider of support to those who self injure both locally and nationally. The A&E support service, community groups, advocacy work and training that we deliver are available to anyone who experiences self injury, or lives/works with people who experience self injury. Through these services, our work has organically expanded to be inclusive of all genders. As we re-launch our listening support service, which has been a cornerstone of our provision since its inception in the 1980s, we want to ensure that our expertise and knowledge can reach those that need it most. We have just re-opened our protected women-only multi-channel support service on the exact same basis that it has been operating for decades. So that we can reach more people, we have also opened a new department within the listening service; a non-gendered support service for anyone who wishes to use it, including women who wish to use both helplines. Both departments can be reached on the same number during their different opening times. By doing this, we can reach more people, ensuring a more comprehensive support network for many. We remain a feminist organisation that has a gendered approach to, and understanding of, self injury, and recognise that people have different needs relating to self injury which are impacted by gender. You can read more about our listening services. how to contact us and the support available here. To reflect the expansion of our support provision, we as the Board of Trustees have begun the process of refreshing our memorandum and articles of association, which is the governing document of the charity. Doing this will enable us to best ringfence women-only spaces within our organisation, and champion our mixed-gender services as we continue to grow as a charity and support as many people as we possibly can. We look forward to sharing further updates with you during this process. Manage Cookie Preferences
